Pauline will be forever one of my all-time favorite patients. I will paraphrase her quote, as her comment effectively summarized exactly what I think about my own personal health. One day I asked her how it was that she had chosen her guidelines for determining her approach to her dental care, as she had always demanded the best that dentistry had to offer. Her answer was that she had decided that she wanted to grow older with dignity, and that didn't include having any removable parts with the exception of her eyeglasses.
I hope that I can forever maintain such a positive attitude about my own health. She was one of the most elegant and gracious individuals I have known. Her photograph here typifies her attention to every detail of her appearance. |
