Neuromuscular Dentistry

This 20-year old technology has exploded into use with the coming of the computer technology that allows us to display the problem and the degree of success with the solution.  Related problems come in the form of TMJ pain, headaches, neck pains, muscle, or inability to chew well.

This whole group of problems, if associated with a badly positioned bite, can be improved by correcting the faulty bite.  Since this group of problems almost always displays hyperactivity of the muscles that are used for biting and chewing, we can measure the degree of problem at the beginning, during treatment, and during "maintainence" to verify that we are really providing a solution for the problem.

In its simplest form, neuromuscular dentistry involves, first, assessing the extent of the problem and whether or not it is likely to be bite related.
